Your maths problems – solved!

The mathematics learning software Calcularis was developed in collaboration with neuroscientists and computer scientists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and promotes the development and coordination of areas of the brain responsible for processing numbers, amounts and mathematical tasks. Calcularis can be used from the first year of school up to adulthood.

Specially designed for children with dyscalculia (weakness in numeracy).

Functions of Calcularis

Calcularis trains the mathematical learning process from the ground up, starting with the number range 0-10 and moving on to 0-20, 0-100 and 0-1000. At each stage, Calcularis develops the child's understanding of numbers, addition/subtraction and multiplication/division skills. The software contains more than twenty games designed to systematically facilitate learning progress.

Plus-minus

Multisensory representation

All tasks are rendered as 3D images, making it easier for children to visualise the positioning of numbers on an expanding number line, differentiate between quantities and solve sums.

ZooSavanne

Motivation and reward

Fun, motivation and celebration of one's achievements play a central role in learning success. In Calcularis, correctly solved tasks are rewarded with points, which the child can then use to add animals and features to their own zoo scene.

Fortschritt

Measurable progress

The child's current level of progress can be viewed at any time. Topics studied, remaining areas of difficulty and upcoming content are displayed in a clear, concise fashion.

How does Calcularis work?

Independent, multisensory, computer-based training activates and promotes the development of the brain. The software is designed to activate additional pathways for learning. Once this has been accomplished, the brain is able to link information from these individual pathways to compensate for areas of learning weakness.
